All persons employed in the gambling industry or whose job relate to gambling or the gambling process are required to complete a Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) course.
The good news is that once you have completed your RCG Certificate, you can apply to receive your RCG competency card in digital format. You will be able to view, display and renew your RCG accreditation in Sydney on your smartphone or tablet.
Upon completing the RCG course at an approved training provider, you will be furnished with an interim RCG certificate. This certificate is issued by Liquor and Gaming NSW. You can immediately begin working as it is valid for 90 days. This grace period provides time to apply for the RCG Competency Card.
How To Get A Digital Competency Card
Go online and sign up for a MyServiceNSW account with a valid email address. Login to your MyServiceNSW account and add the licence by inserting your RCG interim certificate details. Your RCG Competency Card will instantly be available in the app.
Now download the latest version of the Service NSW app from the Apple App Store or GooglePlay.
Accessing The Digital Licence On Your Device
- Open the Service NSW App.
- Log into your MyServiceNSW account.
- Your licence will be available on the home screen.
- It is possible to add other licences such as the Responsible Service of Alcohol competency card and the Construction White Card.
- Multiple licences will be available in a revolving format.
For security, you will be required to create a PIN code for the app. For added security, you will be able to use TouchID or FaceID for future logins.
Renewing Your RCG Competency Card Online
Your RCG Competency Card is valid for 5 years. You will be sent a reminder to renew via email or SMS roughly three months before the expiry date.
Using your MyServiceNSW account, select the option to renew your competency card online. You will be guided through the process, which will include the completion of a refresher course. This RCG refresher course can be undertaken online.
On completion of the process, your new competency card will be available on the app. This card will be valid for a further five years.
