Apply WHS Requirements In The Construction Industry is delivered and certificates are issued by the Edway Training (RTO No 91401).
Training Aid Australia is accredited by Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.
There is a specific requirement that all assessors must hold “CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirement, policies and procedures in the construction industry” (or its successor) to be able to deliver and assess unit of competency “CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry”
- This unit of competency covers fundamental work health and safety topics necessary to undertake work tasks within any sector in the construction industry. It includes the identification of hazardous materials, including asbestos, and compliance with legislated work safety practices (It does not cover the removal of asbestos, which is a licensed activity).
- Please note that after completion of this course you will not receive a General Construction Induction card (white card).
White Card Information
To receive a white card, a person needs to complete a “CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry” training course.

Apply WHS Requirements in the Construction Industry training covers following topics:
- Identify and assess risks
- Identify hazardous materials and other hazards on work sites
- Plan and prepare for safe work practices
- Apply safe work practices
- Plan and prepare for safe work practices
- Follow emergency procedures
Online Module
Students will be required to complete online assessments after referring to the various guides provided in the online portal.
The link to the online portal will be provided in the confirmation email after completing the course booking.
LLN (Language, Literacy and Numeracy)
As per WorkSafe Victoria requirements, the basic understanding, reading and writing of English is required. Use of interpreters and translators is not allowed.
As part of our pre-training review all students are required to complete an LLN assessment to determine a student’s eligibility for enrolment into their selected course.
All students enrolling into any Edway Training course must have LLN skills to do simple calculations, understand English well enough to be able to read, write, and provide verbal responses to questions in English to undertake training and assessment in any of our courses.

USI (Unique Student Identifier)
From 1 January 2015, every student who undertakes nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Australia is required to have a USI.
STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT CANNOT BE ISSUED
if a participant fails to produce a valid USI number.
